This weekend was a lot of fun! Date night was deffinitely the best one we have had in a while. Usually by the time friday night rolls around, both Cameron and I are too pooped to poop, so our date nights turn into sitting on the couch eating whatever I could make in less than 10 minutes and watchign Law and Order re-runs. But not this week, I still made dinner but then we headed downtown to do some serious jean shopping and cruised the mall. Of course a date night would not be complete without a stop at Walmart, and since Dairy Queen is officially closed as of today, we had to stop off there for one last blizzard for the year :( It's sad that the people of Minot are not as dedicated to their icecream consumption as the rest of us :) Saturday Cameron went hunting with a bunch of buddies and shot a couple birds and a few rabbits. So Saturday night we went over to the Blower's house for a good ol BBQ where, YES- even I, ate pheasant and whatever else they shot. After dinner we stuffed our faces with dessert and then headed out to the Corn Maze that everyone has been hootin and hollerin about this year. It was haunted this weekend which made it even better.
Before I go on, I will just tell you this little background info: Cameron and I attempted to go to this corn maze last year, and when we pulled into the podunk town of deering, in broad daylight i might add, we didn't dare get out of the car, or unlock our doors for that matter! We were sure that town is where every horror movie ever began!
So, our friends wanted to go last night, and we figured safety in numbers right?! K, well we show up and head into the maze (where they require you have flashlights!) and I guess it was supposed to be scary, but I have a problem with "scary" situations.... they never are. If you have ever tried watching a scary movie with me you completely understand what I mean. This is what happened in our haunted maze last night......

So... All in all, GREAT MAZE, GREAT COSTUMING, and pretty scary stuff for everyone else, but I just really enjoy getting some good pictures :) Not to mention, we got FREE hot chocolate and some awesome straw/hay to sit on!
In other news, the job hunt has taken an interesting twist. So I have already vented about my experience with idiot employers around this place, and the whole hiring process.... well, this just tops it off.

In other news, the job hunt has taken an interesting twist. So I have already vented about my experience with idiot employers around this place, and the whole hiring process.... well, this just tops it off. So this week I got 2 emails from people I sent applications to about 2 months ago saying they were no longer looking to fill the position. (well duh!) Anyway, thursday morning I get a call from the school I subbed at last week. They tell me that in order to get paid I need to fill out this card with my direct deposite info on it down at the district office. So I show up at the office and ask for this card and the lady sends me over to some other guy where I ask for the same card. Instead of just filling out the card, this man has me fill out a W2 (w4?), a personal information sheet, and then this green card for payroll, then he asks for 2 forms of ID. So after going through all that (I'm thinking, gosh can't i just get a check?) he takes me to another office where he snaps a photo of me, and then walks me over to the timeclock where he explains just how to use my new id card to clock in and out, etc. I just keep nodding my head and saying "uhuh" and finally leave.
So lets review shall we.... I get turned down for job after job up here, BUT apparently I am a hired employee of the Minot public school district as a substitute, a job I NEVER applied for, and was NEVER interviewed for, NEVER even asked any questions about my background or anything!! BUT I am a paid employee who works with small children.... how does this make any sense?!

Fist of all I would like to comment on your "native Minot" look with the layers and the boots over the jeans. I have NEVER understood shoes over the pants, but I guess up there it's for warmth? And Also I am a little afraid of the lack of interview process or even background check for a school employee.
hey kelsie, your 'haunted forest' picks made me laugh. i'm really scared of things like that for some reason. last time before we walked in a haunted house i think i cried... holy cow how pathetic.
Haha I love the "scary" maze. I am having a little memory of the basement at Cassie's house, a scary movie, me and you laughing and Shay being scared of Asians for weeks. Ring a bell?!
OK, love that you posed with the "scary people". Especially the Pumpkin man with the severed hand! Nice!! Loved it. At least you have a steady income now??
Ohhhh I miss you. That entire post is absolutely hilarious
